Store Terms and Conditions
Terms for purchases of prints, calendars and printable files in my Walk of Berlin online store. Version: 27 October 2026.
1. Your seller
I am Yusuf Ucuz, a sole trader trading as Walk of Berlin.
Postal address: Marzahner Promenade 28, 12679 Berlin, Germany
Email: info@walkofberlin.com
Telephone: +49 1522 8483662
I am your seller and your contact for orders, delivery, withdrawals and defects. My production partner Gelato prints and ships physical products on my behalf. Your contract is with me, and using a production or delivery partner does not reduce my obligations to you.
2. What these terms cover
These terms cover purchases through my Walk of Berlin online store at walkofberlin.com:
- Standard physical prints, posters and calendars.
- Personalised physical prints, including “Your Berlin Street in 1928”.
- Printable digital files sold through the store checkout.
- Gift vouchers for “Your Berlin Street in 1928”, delivered by email (section 7a).
Each product page identifies whether you are buying a physical product or a digital download and describes its contents, size, materials or file formats, as applicable. A frame, printed copy or other accessory is included only where the product description says so.
These terms do not govern guided walks, audio walks, virtual tours or other experiences sold through their own booking or product checkout. The terms presented for those purchases apply to them. Buying a print or printable file does not include a tour booking or access to an experience unless the product description expressly includes it.
A consumer is an individual buying mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. The withdrawal rights described in the accompanying notice are offered to consumers regardless of their country of residence. Nothing in these terms reduces any greater protection provided by applicable mandatory law.
3. Ordering and conclusion of the contract
You can select products, choose available options, add them to your cart and review the order before placing it. You can change quantities, remove items and correct your contact details, delivery details and product selections before using the final payment button. Please review any personalised map point and text at this stage.
The checkout shows the products, quantities, total amount payable and available payment methods. By using the final button that clearly confirms your obligation to pay, you submit a binding order. Payment is due when you order, using the payment method you select.
I accept your order by sending an order-confirmation email. The contract is concluded when that acceptance reaches you or, if earlier, when I make the ordered digital content available or dispatch the ordered physical goods. My order-confirmation email is acceptance of the order, not merely an acknowledgement of receipt.
The contract is made in English. I store your order details and send the order confirmation, the applicable version of these terms, and the relevant withdrawal notice and model form by email in a form you can keep. You can save or print these documents and request a copy from me. There is no promise of permanent access to the contract documents through a customer account, so please keep the email.
If you spot an error after ordering, contact me promptly. I will check whether a requested change is still possible. This request process does not restrict any right of withdrawal or other statutory right you have. I will not substitute a different personalised design without your agreement.
4. Prices, payment and charges
Prices are stated in euro. The total you must pay me, including any taxes I am required to collect and any applicable delivery charge, is shown before you place your order. I do not add an undisclosed handling or production charge afterwards.
Standard shipping is free within the delivery areas set out in section 5. Printing a digital download yourself, or through a print service you choose, is at your own cost and is not part of the digital purchase price.
If a shipment could give rise to additional import duties, taxes or clearance charges payable by you to a third party, this must be explained before you order, including the amount where it can reasonably be calculated. Where it cannot be calculated in advance, the possibility of the additional charge must be stated. This clause does not itself impose an undisclosed charge on you.
5. Physical production and delivery
Standard physical prints and calendars, and personalised “Your Berlin Street in 1928” prints, can be delivered to Germany, the other countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. Delivery restrictions for the selected product must be shown before you place your order.
The current estimated delivery times, including production, are:
| Product and destination | Estimated delivery |
|---|---|
| Standard prints and calendars: Germany | 3–5 working days |
| Standard prints and calendars: other EU countries, United Kingdom and United States | 4–7 working days |
| Personalised “Your Berlin Street in 1928”: Germany | 3–5 working days |
| Personalised “Your Berlin Street in 1928”: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, France, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States | 4–7 working days |
| Personalised “Your Berlin Street in 1928”: Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal and Romania | 6–9 working days |
These estimates run from receipt of payment and the complete information needed for the order. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays at the relevant production or delivery location. A different delivery period stated for a particular product and agreed before the order takes precedence.
If no delivery deadline has been agreed or can be determined from the circumstances, I will deliver physical goods without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. This does not extend any shorter delivery deadline that applies to your order. If delivery is delayed or I cannot supply the ordered product, I will contact you. Your statutory rights concerning late or failed delivery remain unaffected.
Items may arrive in separate parcels. I do not charge you an additional delivery fee merely because I split an order. For consumer orders, I remain responsible for the goods until you, or a person you nominate other than the carrier, receive them, subject to any applicable statutory exception where you independently commission a carrier I have not offered.
6. Personalised prints and previews
“Your Berlin Street in 1928” is made using the map point, title, area text and optional personal line selected for your order. Please check these details and the preview before ordering. The selected map point determines the location to be printed; the search result alone should not be relied on if you move the point afterwards.
The print must match the agreed location, text, layout and other product specifications. Screen settings, paper and printing can affect the appearance of colours, but this does not excuse a defect or a failure to meet the agreed specifications. Historical source images retain their original level of detail; the product description and preview show the source material being used.
If the selected location cannot be produced from the available historical imagery, I will contact you rather than print an empty or unrelated image. I will ask whether you want an alternative. If the order cannot be supplied as agreed and you do not agree to an alternative, I will refund the amount paid for the affected product without undue delay. Your other statutory rights remain unaffected.
The statutory withdrawal exception for genuinely personalised physical goods is explained in section 8 and in the separate withdrawal notice. It does not remove your rights if the print is faulty or does not match your order.
7. Printable digital files: delivery and use
A printable digital product contains the files described on its product page. Formats and contents vary: a product may contain PNG images, PDF documents or a ZIP archive, including an archive with further ZIP files inside. Check the listed formats, dimensions and print ratios before buying.
You need internet access to receive and download the files, enough storage space, and software that can open the supplied file types. ZIP files need to be extracted. Printing requires a compatible printer or a print service. No particular commercial printing service is included in your purchase.
After payment is received, the download link is provided on the order confirmation page and in the order-confirmation email. If your selected payment method takes time to clear, access is supplied after payment is confirmed. The download link is valid for 30 days. You can keep and use the downloaded files for your permitted personal use without a time limit; expiry of the link does not end that permission. If the link is missing, fails or has expired before you could obtain your files, contact me so I can restore access or provide a replacement link without an additional charge.
Your purchase gives you a non-exclusive right to download and keep the files and make prints for your own private, non-commercial use. You may give a copy of the file to a printing service solely to produce those prints for you. You must not resell the files or copies made from them, share the download link, or publish or redistribute the files, except to the extent that applicable law or a separate licence permits it.
Third-party material, open data and public-domain material keep their own legal status and licence terms. Any source or licence document supplied with a product explains those rights. The personal-use restrictions above do not override permissions granted by those separate licences or restrict lawful independent use of public-domain material. I do not claim exclusive ownership of the underlying public or openly licensed geographical data.
Immediate access does not remove the 14-day consumer withdrawal right described in the separate notice. If you withdraw from the digital purchase, you must stop using the supplied digital content and must not make it available to anyone else; I may disable further access. This does not restrict independent rights in source material that you hold under applicable law or a separate licence.
7a. Gift vouchers for “Your Berlin Street in 1928”
What a voucher is. A gift voucher is a single-use code that you can buy in the store as “Gift: Your Berlin Street in 1928” (Poster gift or Digital gift). The code gives its holder a discount equal to the voucher value on one order of the personalised print or the printable digital file “Your Berlin Street in 1928”. The voucher is delivered by email as a code with a printable card, normally within the hour and no later than 24 hours after payment. Nothing is shipped.
Value and use. The voucher value is shown on the product page and on the card. A Poster gift voucher applies only to the personalised “Your Berlin Street in 1928” print; a Digital gift voucher applies to that print or to the printable digital file. A voucher cannot be used for other products, tours or for another gift voucher. If the order costs more than the voucher value, the holder pays the difference at checkout. If it costs less, the remaining value is not paid out and is not kept for a later order. A voucher can be used once, in one order, and only one code or discount can be applied to an order. Enter the code exactly as written, in capital letters.
Validity. A voucher can be redeemed until 31 December of the third year after the year of purchase. The date is printed on the card and in the email. After that date the code can no longer be redeemed.
No cash. A voucher cannot be exchanged for cash and does not earn interest. Anyone who has the code can use it, so please treat it like cash. If you lose a code, write to info@walkofberlin.com from the address used for the order and I will resend it, unless it has already been used.
Withdrawal by the buyer. If you are a consumer, you can withdraw from the purchase of a voucher within 14 days of the purchase, without giving a reason, as explained in the withdrawal notice. This works as long as the code has not been used. I will disable the code and refund the purchase price. If the code has already been used, the voucher has been provided in the amount used, and I deduct that amount from the refund as far as the law allows.
Orders paid with a voucher. The recipient is my customer for the order placed with the voucher, and these terms apply to that order as usual. If that order is cancelled or withdrawn, I refund the part covered by the voucher as a new code with the original expiry date.
8. Withdrawal and returns
The accompanying Withdrawal notices and model withdrawal form form part of these terms. They explain the deadlines, how to withdraw, reimbursement and return arrangements.
For standard physical goods, consumers have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason, calculated from possession of the goods as described in that notice. Printing a standard catalogue item only after it is ordered does not remove this right.
For genuinely personalised physical goods, including “Your Berlin Street in 1928” made to your individual specifications, the statutory right of withdrawal is excluded under section 312g(2), no. 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB), subject to any greater rights under applicable mandatory law. This exception concerns withdrawal for a change of mind. It does not affect defective-goods rights and does not apply to a digital file merely because the file is personalised.
For printable digital files sold through this store, consumers retain the 14-day withdrawal right from conclusion of the contract even after receiving, downloading or using the files. I do not require a waiver in exchange for immediate delivery.
For a standard physical-goods withdrawal, send the return to Yusuf Ucuz, Walk of Berlin, Marzahner Promenade 28, 12679 Berlin, Germany. You do not need my prior approval or a return authorisation number. You bear the direct return postage for a change-of-mind withdrawal, as explained in the notice. That rule does not apply to costs I must bear for defective or incorrectly supplied goods. Please pack the goods carefully; original packaging is not a condition of your withdrawal right.
9. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or undelivered products
Your statutory rights apply to standard and personalised physical goods and to digital content. The withdrawal rules do not replace those rights.
If a physical product is faulty, damaged in transit or does not match your order, please contact me at info@walkofberlin.com. Photos are helpful if you can provide them, but they are not a condition of your statutory rights. You do not lose those rights by failing to notify me within 14 days or by accepting a parcel without recording damage with the carrier.
For physical goods, you may choose repair or replacement subject to the limits provided by law, including impossibility or disproportionate cost. I bear the necessary costs of the statutory remedy, including any required transport costs. I will provide the remedy within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. Where the legal conditions are met, you may also be entitled to a price reduction, termination of the contract and a refund, and damages.
Under German consumer sales law, claims for defects in new goods generally have a two-year limitation period starting at delivery, subject to statutory extensions and other applicable rules. Where a defect is remedied by repair under that law, the original limitation period is extended once by 12 months. Any longer protection under applicable mandatory law remains unaffected. These rules do not amount to an unconditional promise to replace goods damaged through misuse or ordinary wear.
For digital content, your statutory rights include supply of the agreed content and correction of defects, including any updates required by law. If the statutory conditions are met, you may be entitled to a price reduction, termination and a refund, and damages. The 30-day download-link period does not shorten your statutory rights or the period in which you may bring a claim.
If a delivery or download fails, contact me so I can investigate and provide the agreed product or the remedy required by law. You do not have to pursue Gelato, a carrier or another provider before exercising your rights against me.
10. Liability
I am liable in accordance with applicable law. These terms do not exclude or limit liability for injury to life, body or health, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, product liability, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not limit your statutory remedies for defective products or other breaches of contract.
11. Personal information
I use the details needed to process your order, provide the product, arrange delivery and handle support, withdrawal or defect claims. For a personalised print, this includes the selected location and the text to appear on the print. Production and delivery partners receive the information needed to fulfil their part of your order. The Privacy Policy explains the processing of personal information and your rights.
Buying a product does not by itself sign you up for marketing emails.
12. Governing law and complaints
German law applies. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of protection under mandatory rules that apply to you, including applicable rules of your country of habitual residence. Nothing in these terms restricts the courts to which you may bring a claim under applicable consumer jurisdiction rules.
Please contact me at info@walkofberlin.com if there is a problem with an order. I am neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. This does not prevent you from exercising your legal rights or using any procedure available to you by law.
13. Versions of these terms
The version supplied for your order applies to that purchase. A later website update does not retrospectively change an existing contract without your agreement or another valid legal basis.
